Our In-House Lab
Our clinic boasts with state of the art diagnostic equipment to help us diagnose and treat your best friend faster and more accurately.
This includes radiography, endoscopy, and of course, our in-house laboratory.
Laboratory testing is highly recommended, not only for diagnostic value when it comes to ill pets, but for routine monitoring to spot illnesses before they become worse and even keeping tabs on kidney values in pets on chronic anti-inflammatories.
Our in-house laboratory consists of state of the art blood analysis machines able to do full haematological and blood chemistry analysis on a wide variety of species, including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, birds, small stock and even alpacas!

The Idexx Lasercyte Dx is our Haematology machine. It uses whole blood samples for testing and can run samples in under 15 minutes.
Haematology is the study of blood and blood disorders. It focuses on individual blood components like red blood cells, platelets and white blood cells.
The Idexx Catalyst One is our blood chemistry analyser. Blood chemistry tests are blood tests that measure amounts of certain chemicals in the blood.
It shows the current state of certain organs and can help spot abnormalities within the body.
There are many different kinds of blood chemistry tests. We can do a variety of tests, including (but not limited to) enzymes, electrolytes, fats/lipids, hormones, sugars, and proteins.
We recommend routine testing of senior pets, from 7 years of age, every 6 – 12 months to monitor for age-related complications.
This way, diseases can be spotted in the earlier stages, allowing treatment or management to be more successful.
