KimVet’s Cat Corner
Welcome Cat Parents!
Thank you for choosing to trust us with your feline family members! This Cat Corner has been made specifically for you.
Here you will find our Feline Specific Pre-Consultation Questionnaire, some basic clinic information and additional links to trusted resources for a little bit of extra bedtime reading if you are interested in even more information regarding your cat counterparts.
When you arrive for your consultation, be sure to ask for a “feline friendly blanket” if your cat is stressed.
These blankies are sprayed with Feliway (a feel good pheromone spray) and are neutral in colour as to not put extra stress on your whiskered friends.
If your cat is super stressed, please don’t hesitate to ask to wait for your appointment in a separate room, if there is one available.
We have well-established connections with excellent specialist veterinarians and we are readily able to refer your pet to them, should we not be adequately equipped to help with a more advanced problem.
Our veterinarians and support staff are passionate about preventative healthcare and education, allowing us to perform top-notch primary health checks and give the very best professional advice we have to offer for your pet friend.

What You Need to Know About Your Appointment
A list of your pet's medicines
It’s important to bring a list of all the medicines that your pet is using (prescription or herbal). Especially if it is the first time visiting us or during an emergency. The Dr. needs to know what medication your pet is using, to ensure they can give your pet the best medical care.
Pet Medical History
Your pet’s medical history also plays an important role. Previous conditions may have an impact on a current condition. Having the history on hand, may assist the Dr. with their diagnosis.
Your Pet's Pain Score
Knowing your pet’s pain score is very important. This will help during painful conditions, to determine the pain that they are experiencing at the moment.
Evaluation and Treatment Plans
During the consultation, Dr. will evaluate your pet. Should a treatment plan be necessary, the Dr. will discuss it with you. This may include blood test, medicines or prescription diet food.
Routine Checkups
Your pet should visit the vet at least once a year for a routine checkup and their vaccinations. A routine checkup is very important, as diseases may be diagnosed earlier, and not when they become really sick. Senior pets should visit the vet twice a year.
